Outset Money

Terms of Service

Last updated October 11, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and William Nelepovitz II (“we”, “us”), who provides the Outset Money app and its services (“Outset”). By creating an account or using Outset, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Outset.

Who can use Outset

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Your account

Give accurate sign-in details and keep access to your email, Apple or Google account secure. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at support@tryoutset.com if you think someone else has used it.

What Outset is, and isn’t

Outset helps you plan your money around your paychecks. It works from the information you enter, so its figures are only as accurate as that information. Outset doesn’t move money or connect to your bank.

Outset, including Ask Outset, gives general information about your own budget. It isn’t financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and we aren’t a financial adviser. Ask Outset’s answers come from an AI model and can be wrong; check anything important before you rely on it.

The free plan and Outset Pro

The free plan includes up to 50 entries a month, 2 goals, and 1 Ask Outset question a month. Outset Pro removes the entry and goal limits, adds cash flow insights, and includes up to 30 Ask Outset questions a day. We may change what each plan includes; if a change takes away something you pay for, we’ll tell you in advance.

Your information

What you put into Outset is yours. You let us store, process and copy it only as needed to run Outset for you, including sending parts of it to our service providers, such as Anthropic when you use Ask Outset. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it. You can export your entries or delete your account at any time.

Fair use

Don’t misuse Outset: don’t try to break or overload it, get into other people’s data, get around plan limits, copy or resell it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Ending your use

You can stop using Outset and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering Outset; if we stop offering it, we’ll give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your entries.

Disclaimers

Outset is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these terms, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don’t promise Outset will always be available or free of errors.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or savings, and our total liability for any claim about Outset is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Outset in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Using Outset after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there instead.
